Christopher Rutkowski
I’m a Canadian science writer and educator with a background in astronomy. Since the mid-1970s, I’ve also been studying reports of UFOs and writing about my investigations and research. I have eight published books on UFOs and related issues (and few other non-UFO books), including A World of UFOs (2008), I Saw It Too! (2009) and The Big Book of UFOs (2010). I am a member of an awesome writers’ group known as Off the Wall. I am on Twitter (@ufologyresearch) and blog at: http://uforum.blogspot.com/. I have been involved in many writing and media projects for more than 30 years, including TV specials (The Monster of Lake Manitoba, 1996), planetarium shows (Moonlight Serenade, 1983, and Amateur Nights, 1989) and newspaper columns ("Strange Tales," in the Northern Times, Thompson, Manitoba,1984 to 1985). I have been an occasional book reviewer for the Winnipeg Free Press. I have appeared on numerous radio programs, podcasts and TV series, including Unsolved Mysteries, UFO Hunters, Sightings, Eye2thesky and A&E’s The Unexplained. I’m the current president of the Manitoba Writers’ Guild and I teach courses on writing. I am a past president of both the Winnipeg Science Fiction Society and the Winnipeg Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. My day job is as a public information officer for a university. Oh, and in my spare time I try to help eliminate hunger, cure disease, raise spiritual awareness and bring about world peace. |

Dennis Maione
Dennis Maione has seen the world of publishing from two sides. As a technical writer, he wrote a series of self-study training guides for Pearson Educational Publishing, focusing on the technical aspects of Windows operating systems. Printed in 5 languages, the English versions alone sold in excess of 50,000 combined copies. Dennis is now focused on self publishing: his recent book, What I Learned from Cancer, was released last September and has sold 1,000 copies to date. His current project, Past Calls Future, is an exploration of family and destiny. Dennis divides his time between speaking about cancer, volunteering as Reader-in-Residence for Literacy Partners of Manitoba, giving presentations on the value of storytelling, conducting workshops on the art and practice of memoir writing, and managing his own para-publishing business, which offers aid to the prospective self-published author. (Yes, he's a busy guy!) For more information about his company, Prompters to Life, and the work that Dennis does, you can visit http://www.prompterstolife.com. He can also be found on Facebook, as @prompters on Twitter, and at his most recent writing project blogs: http://denniscancer.blogspot.com and http://pastcallsfuture.blogspot.com. He also checks his e-mail, [email protected], at least 100 times a day. Throughout this conference, you can find Dennis at the Prompters to Life vendor booth, where he looks forward to talking with you, and where you can sign up for his newsletter. |
